Mission Action Project: Kindness Bags for YMCA Supportive Housing
Please join us on Sunday, July 16, in Grace Hall following worship to pack 140 Kindness Bags for the residents of the Supportive Housing Campus in Des Moines.
We need your assistance to brighten their day. Come write a little note of encouragement letting each resident know that we are wishing them well and pack the bags with fun and delicious goodies.  This project is also supporting small businesses in our neighborhood. Most of the treats were purchased from a couple of grocers in the Mc Neal Shopping Plaza.

The YMCA Supportive Housing Campus is a community solution to help eliminate homelessness by providing hope, dignity, and support in the form of permanent supportive housing. This Housing First Model helps people who are homeless (or at-risk of homelessness) move into stable and secure permanent housing supplemented by supportive services. Case management, transportation assistance, food/clothing/hygiene pantries, rental assistance and other services help people meet their basic needs and reach their life goals. Learn more by reading their stories:  Resident Story | YMCA of Greater Des Moines (dmymca.org)

We are grateful for the funding of this project through the Mission Action Fund.
