A School Supply Challenge

A Challenge from the Lutheran World Relief Committee
If you had to choose between feeding your children and buying them school supplies so they could attend school, what would you choose? What if not attending school put your children at risk for future unemployment and gang involvement?
For many parents in Honduras, this impossible decision is a daily reality. While Honduras offers free public education, children still must have the proper supplies to attend. Last fall, Lutheran World Relief distributed more than 14,000 School Kits to families in Honduras. Many of the parents are single mothers just getting by from day to day and cannot afford food and clothing, much less school supplies. LWR assists them in other ways as well.
We set forth this challenge to Grace members- purchase the following school supplies to fill a school kit (the bag will be provided by the LWR ministry team). Return these items to Grace Hall by the first Sunday of Sunday School, September 16.
4 -70 page spiral notebooks, wide or college rule
