Christmas Star Tree
Every year at Grace, the Star Tree is set up on a table in the Gathering Hall just outside of the Sanctuary. The paper Star decorations each list a gift that will help make someone’s Christmas special.
- Mosaic Stars
This year there will be 24 Star for individuals at Mosaic, listing their name, size, and some of their likes, interests, and wishes: whether they prefer puzzles, games, soft sweatshirts, scented lotions, favorite sports teams, cartoon characters, or colors. Choose the item/items that you wish to give while aiming for $25 as a target of how much to spend. - LSI Children
These 30 stars ask for a $25 WalMart Gift Card, which will be distributed to families through LSI. You can purchase the gift card yourself or send the money to the church and we will purchase it for you.
What you do:
- Choose your star – and take it with you.
- After shopping, secure the star to the bag or envelope containing the unwrapped gift, and return it to the church no later than Sunday, December 14.
- Envelopes with gift cards should be dropped off at the office (you can use the secure mail slot just outside the office if the office is closed) or placed in the offering plate on Sunday. Envelopes placed in the outside USPS mailbox MUST include a postage stamp.
- Unwrapped gifts may be placed under the tree when here for worship, delivered to the church office during business hours, or delivered directly to Joie Gronert – please call or text first to make arrangements (515-210-2057 call or text).
Unable to select a star?
If you want to participate but are unable to shop, you may pay for the $25 gift by using Grace’s online giving site (https://gracedm.org/give-to-grace/), mailing a check to church, or making arrangements to drop off a check/cash when the church is open.
