Wear Red for Pentecost!
Published on May 28, 2020 • Michelle Voelker
As we gather for worship during this Pentecost Sunday, we will complete the theme of our Mission Statement:
Grace Lutheran Church is a community of faith, centered in worship, held in grace, strengthened in love, sent forth in mission, in Jesus’ name.
During each worship service we will focus on a phrase from our collective mission. This week we will focus on what it means to be “Sent Forth in Mission.” The Gospel text reminds us that the Holy Spirit goes ahead of us, inviting us into the mission of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Please consider wearing RED as we celebrate Pentecost. Any time you see red paraments, we are reminded that God is changing something. On this day, it is the Holy Spirit gathering people into community in what some consider the “Birthday of the Church.”
Please gather the following:
The Order of Service
A bowl of water
Something to eat (bread or cracker of some kind if possible)
Something to drink (wine or juice if possible)
For those gathering through Facebook, the Grace Lutheran Church page will go live on Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. If you are unable to gather at that time, the service will be uploaded into the video section shortly after the service concludes.
